Letter to Mayor Lupolianski Regarding Gay Pride Parade
26th Sivan 5766 22nd June, 2006
Your Honor, Mayor Lupolianski,
We, as members of the High Council of B’nei Noah, wish to join the chorus of concerned voices who strongly object to the upcoming International Gay Pride Parade in Jerusalem. As non-Jews who believe in G-d, Torah and Israel, we observe the Sheva Mitzvot. These are laws which are required of all mankind. Among those Seven Universal Laws is the precept against Sexual Immorality which includes the terrible sin of homosexuality.
In most cases, we would not presume to tell the mayor of a far away city, especially one with your demonstrated love of Torah, how to conduct his affairs. However, our own of love of Torah and of Israel forces us to ask how Your Honor can, in good conscience allow this Abomination to debase Ir HaKodesh? After all, we have a vested interest in safeguarding the purity of Jerusalem since, as the prophets spoke, the nations shall come up to Jerusalem in the future to worship the G-d of Israel.
For the sake of all peoples and all the nations, we respectfully ask that you hold true to the Torah and the dictates of HaShem. Do not allow this pollution called a Gay Pride Parade to abase the place where the G-d of Israel has chosen to place His name.
With deep respect and an earnest prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem,
High Council of B’Nei Noah
